About FDM Technology
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) builds parts by extruding molten thermoplastic filament layer by layer. It is ideal for rapid prototyping, functional parts, and manufacturing aids due to its speed, cost-effectiveness, and wide material variety.

Polylactic Acid Plus
High stiffness, low shrinkage, and biodegradable. Enhanced with modifiers for 3x toughness of standard PLA.
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: Low heat deflection (55°C). Deforms in hot cars.

Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol
Excellent chemical resistance, ductility (bends before breaking), and hydrophobic properties.
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: Slightly lower scratch resistance than PLA.

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene
High impact resistance, matte finish, post-processable. The industry standard for durable plastics.
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: Susceptible to UV degradation (yellowing) outdoors.

Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate
The 'Outdoor King'. Chemically modified ABS for high UV stability and weather resistance.
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: Requires enclosed chamber (standard for us).

Thermoplastic Polyurethane
Elastomeric and flexible. Shore 95A hardness (similar to a shopping cart wheel).
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: Cannot print steep overhangs.

Polycarbonate
The strongest FDM plastic. Extremely high heat resistance and impact strength.
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: High hygroscopy (absorbs moisture rapidly).

Polyamide (PA)
Self-lubricating with high fatigue resistance. Great for moving parts.
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: Dimensionally sensitive to humidity.

Carbon Fiber PETG
Chopped carbon fibers increase stiffness and hide layer lines with a matte finish.
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: Brittle under shock loads.

Carbon Fiber PLA
Combines the ease of printing PLA with the rigidity of Carbon Fiber.
Key Properties
Best For
Limitation: Low heat resistance (similar to standard PLA).
